Parents/Carers have the right to appeal if an application is refused. Appeals must be submitted within 20 school days of receipt of the decision letter.

How to lodge an appeal
Please send a written request for an appeal to Mrs Whittaker, The Bolsover School, Mooracre Lane, Bolsover, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, S44 6XA or email email@example.com The deadline for appeals is 29 March 2021
Appeals received after this deadline will be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals, where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged with the school.
The appeal hearing
For applications made as part of the normal admissions round, Stage 1 & Stage 2 will be held on the same day.
Stage 1 Thursday 20 May 2021 – School’s case.
The school's case will be presented in writing to parents in advance of the appeal meeting. All parents who have lodged an appeal will be invited to submit questions to the school in advance of the appeal date.
Provided the independent appeals panel is satisfied that prejudice has been proven, individual appeals will then take place as follows.
Stage 2 Thursday 20 May 2021 – Parent’s case
Parents will be notified of the time for their individual appeal no less than 10 days before the hearing. Individual hearings will take place throughout the day via ZOOM.
Parents will be notified in writing of the outcome of their appeal within 5 working days
