TARGET SETTING

This summer our students achieved a good set of GCSE results for the school.  63% of the students achieved the New 9-4 grades in English and Maths, 64% of students achieved a standard pass in either English Language or English Literature and 74% achieved a standard pass in Maths, a figure which places the Maths department above the national average.  These results have placed us top in performance against schools locally.

A large part of this success is based around our expectations that students make the maximum progress possible from their initial starting point in the school across every subject.

Staff at The Bolsover School challenge students to stretch themselves and aspire to be the best they possibly can be.  Through our 'BE BRILLIANT' behaviour policy and commitment and dedication, we strive to encourage our students to be ‘Nothing but the Best’.

As with everything we are always striving to achieve more, therefore it is important that we make any changes passed on to us by the Government, with minimum disruption to the students at The Bolsover School, thus enabling them to maximise their potential.

The guide below explains the target setting process in place for our NEW cohort of Year 7 students.  If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact the school.
